The Preamble

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. 

This video influenced me so much. To have a child recite the preamble gives me a peek at how important it is to know this information and general knowledge of the book our country is founded on and how it works for me. 


The Preamble of the Constitution of the United States of America is an executive summary which encompasses the ideals of the new land, America. The founding fathers wanted to "form a more perfect Union" better than what England offered. To establish Justice they wanted to create a representative government, have equality and social justice and have law enforcement. One of the ideals included was the need to feel safe "Domestic Tranquility"; living peacefully. Military and Tariffs were common defense needed to ensure Common defense against England and any others that may have wanted attack. Education, Jobs, healthcare, food, and other social services were considered to promote the general welfare of the settlers. To close the loop securing the blessings of liberty (FREEDOM) for themselves and their children.
